LA DAME BLANCHE

La Dame Blanche intertwines her native Afro-Cuban influences with hip-hop, trap, reggae and reggaeton beats. The musical project of Cuban singer and flautist Yaite Ramos Rodriguez places her on the scene as a revelation of rap in the Spanish-speaking world with an energetic performance that mixes Latin and urban, cumbia and dancehall, gritty and sensual.

Born and raised in the nucleus of a family of talented Cuban musicians, Yaite is nurtured by sones, rumbas and boleros and begins to explore, from the classical flute, the creation of a musical language of her own. Life takes her around the world, collaborating for the first time with reggae and cumbia artists. These antagonistic experiences converge in the emergence of La Dame Blanche, a performative representation of Cuban urban hip hop. From port to port, La Dame Blanche embarks on a creative ritual that rescues silenced, seemingly mundane stories and intertwines them with powerful urban beats that spontaneously dialogue with the feminine energy and companion of the traverse flute.
